Other than the motion path, the assignment constrained the pivots to the trashcan body, requiring the linkages to avoid intersection.
To ensure the mechanism does not lock up required pictured equivalence.
By using relationships instead of dimension in SolidWorks, I was able to solve for an entire set of solutions, allowing for quicker iterations.
